Hi everyone! I thought I would never get the blog back after the hacker got in, but here we are! I think things are still a little weird, hopefully I can get things restored, if anyone knows about this stuff and can help me out, that would be great. Like, why are the pictures still not showing? And it seems like I can't edit anything besides putting up a new post, like the blog list, can't find it anywhere. I'm pretty blogger illiterate, I'm sure someone out there knows more about this!

Henry: Two Months

I'm late on this post, Henry was two months old on July 5th. He is an absolute joy, so smiley and social. He smiled for the first time when he was only 3 weeks old, and has kept it up nonstop since then. With Clarkie we had to put on a show to get one little smile out of him, but Henry will smile as soon as you look at him. He also 'talks' a lot, cooing a bunch. It melts our hearts. He is kind of an overeater, but he's growing fast. At his two month checkup weighed in at 12 lbs 6 oz and is 24 inches long. He also rolled over tummy to back last week. We love him to pieces!

Fourth of July

We had a quiet 4th of July this year since it was on Sunday and the cousins were out of town. We did make it out to see the city of Chandler's fireworks, which were pretty weak. Clarkie watched for about five minutes, and then decided he would rather play driver. He did add a new word to his vocabulary to describe the fireworks though: "WOW". I think his favorite part was sitting in traffic on the way out and watching the trucks and motorcycles. The kid has a thing for wheels- and I am scared already.

Henry's Blessing

On June 27th, Clark blessed our little Henry Eldon Jones. It was the same day as Clark's little brother Brock's homecoming talk after his mission to Slovenia/Croatia/Serbia, so lots of family was in town. He was blessed at the Jones house and we were lucky to have Clark's dad, both his brothers, Grandpa Blum and two of his uncles there to participate. It was a wonderful blessing, and we are so glad so much of the family could be a part of it.

Clark: 18 Months

Clarkie is actually almost 19 months, but it has been a busy time for us, I haven't been able to get this post up. He has been growing so fast, we can't believe how big our little boy is getting. He is a wonderful big brother, loves to give his "Henwee" hugs and kisses, but also has to be careful because he is getting so strong! He has boundless energy and rarely takes a nap at all these days. He loves motorcycles, he spots them before we do and says 'vroom vroom'. His favorite words are dada, mom, henry, boom, stroller, ball, keys and I guess the list could go on and on. We go swimming almost every day and he is fearless, jumps right in and holds his breath like a champ. He favorite foods are probably Ritz crackers, grapes and apples, but he hates most veggies. We can hardly keep up with him, he is so curious, but we wouldn't have it any other way. Love you so much Clarkie boy!

Henry Eldon Jones was born at 6:01 pm on May 5th 2010. He weighed in at 8 lbs 4 oz. He has a full head of dark hair and is in perfect health. Erin is doing great.

Springtime

We've been having a wonderful spring down here, loving the sunshine before the heat. Here's my handsome boy on Easter:

He was totally into the Easter egg hunt, I figured he would just be running all over.

He loves to dip his food now, chips and salsa, fries and ketchup, bread and gravy, anything.

Clark's sister Kelsey has been in town in case I go into labor, but since there's no baby yet we've just been hanging out doing fun things, like going to the zoo again!

Clarkie was way more interested in this tractor than the giant rhino behind him.

And finally a picture of me pregnant. 38 and a half weeks and ready to go; speaking of which, I'm scheduled to be induced on Wednesday! We'll be meeting this little boy soon- so excited! (Clarkie couldn't help getting in this picture).

Clarkie's Haircut

Last week we were discussing how badly Clarkie needed a haircut, and Clark says "Wouldn't he look great with a mohawk?" And then we proceeded to find out!

He's smiling, but he was totally stuck. (We now have a wonderful baby gate to keep him out of the kitchen; it has saved my life)

The mohawk lasted about a week, and now he has a nice, clean cut buzz.

And here is the only picture of Clark's hunting trip he went on a couple weeks ago. They were hunting javelina, but a few hours after this was taken, a storm moved in and rained them out, soaking them and their camp.

Way Overdue!

To cover the last two months entirely would take a long time, so here's a few pictures of what we have been up to. Clark finished his first semester of law school very well, and the fun is just getting started for him again. We had a really nice trip to California to spend the holidays with our families. We bounced around between households, spending Christmas eve day seeing my grandma, then on to Clark's grandparents to spend Christmas eve and Christmas morning. All the descendants of Clark's moms parents were there, 22 in all I think (although we missed Brock who is still on his mission in Slovenia.) And then back to the Rays we went for Christmas dinner. It was a wonderful blur. Clark left a few days before me and came back to AZ to go camping with his dad, brother and uncle. I think they had fun but of course I have no pictures of that.
January flew by and I'm not sure what happened! I've been continuing to work part time at a subacute care center, and baby boy #2 is growing fast. I'll get a picture of me up here sometime soon. He's giving me more heartburn and having the hiccups more often than his older brother did, if that's possible. And the jury is out on what we're naming him.
We're doing well, really enjoying the Arizona winter. It was 65 and sunny here today. Clarkie will be 14 months old next week, and is about to learn how to open doors (with doorKNOBs no less) so there's a new round of babyproofing for us. He is so curious, he can't help but get into everything. I'll hopefully be posting more in the future, but no promises!

Today was Clarkie's first birthday! The time really does fly, seems like just yesterday we were welcoming him to the world. We had a fun day (but missed Clark, who had to take a four hour final). We went to the zoo:

11 Months

Clarkie is now 11 months old, only a few weeks until his first birthday! He has also been walking for about a month now, and he's getting pretty good, he walks about 75% of the time. In fact, he tries to get down and walk whenever we're holding him. He's very very active, always curious, always exploring. He also says 'mama' and 'dada' (though he says dada way more often). He amazes us more and more every day!

We had a great Halloween this year, it was Clarkie's first. Clarkie went as a racecar driver, and he loves his car! We use it more than the stroller now. We went to the Law school halloween party Thursday, and went to Trunk or Treat with church last night and had a great time at both.

9 Months

I'm a couple weeks late on this post, but I still can't believe our little Clarkie is already 9 months old! He has been growing like a weed, weighs 21 pounds and is almost 30 inches tall. He loves to crawl around and open all of our cabinets and drawers and get everything out. He walks along the couch and with his walking toy, and can even reach the top of the kitchen table! He has also started clapping, waving and he'll dance to any kind of music. Wants to eat everything we are, but he only has his two bottom front teeth so far. He sleeps so great at night and takes a two hour nap most days. He's super vocal, babbling and mimicking our speech and screaming all day, but he's still very quiet around new people. His favorite toys are, unfortunately, cords and computers, so we do our best to hide both. He also headbutts his daddy on command, which hurts daddy more when he's wearing his helmet! We love this little man more and more every day, everything he does amazes us.

The Last Getaway

This post is s little out of order, but we decided back in August to do a trip to Danville before Clark started law school, and we would have no time for a trip for the next 3 years. It's a loooooong drive from Tucson to the Bay, but it was worth it. We had a very fun trip, visiting Great Grandma, as well as both sets of grandparents and aunts and uncles. Clarkie also got to go to the beach and see the ocean for the first time. He loved it! The Santa Cruz water was freezing, but it didn't seem to phase him. And I think he ate a lot more sand than we realized at the time.
And to explain the second picture, for the last month Clarkie has been wearing an orthotic helmet to fix his brachycephaly, a.k.a 'flat head syndrome.' Be careful if you have a new baby, all this 'back is best' stuff for SIDS is creating a lot of this problem. Clarkie is doing really well though, he'll be wearing the helmet probably through Halloween. Just in time for a super awesome costume. Any suggestions? We're thinking a skater, Magneto, or a lego man...

Brolray Reunion

We just got back from the triennial Brolray reunion (a nickname formed from the last names Brassfield, Boltz and Ray, the cousins who started it). This year we went to Estes Park, Colorado, and had so much fun spending time with my dad's side of the family (pretty much all of them!) Clark had never met most of these people, but I think he actually had a lot of fun. And everyone simply adored our little Clarkie boy, so much that he hardly slept the entire time.

Clarkie figured out how to crawl this past Friday, and now we can't keep up with him! And he turned 7 months old today.

It's also monsoon season here in Tucson, which is a new experience for us. We have a thunderstorm almost every day, with the biggest, brightest lightning I have ever seen. Clarkie doesn't really seem to even notice it though. We went to the drive in movies last week during a storm, and it really made it cool to watch all the lightning in the background.

We were at Walmart last night and saw that they have started to stock toy guns again. After perusing the various pieces we decided on the stainless 6-shooter with caps. We're not sure, but we think Clarkie likes it.

Father's Day

My guys on Father's Day. Am I the luckiest girl or what?

Clarkie turned 6 months old a couple weeks ago. He weighed 17 1/2 pounds and is 27 inches tall. His newest trick is getting himself into a sitting position and staying there all by himself! He loves it, until he sees something he wants or somewhere else to be, then he's off and rolling/scooting/pushing himself backwards again. He is thisclose to crawling, he's got all the moves, just needs to put them together.
As far as life goes, we have been settling in here in AZ. I have been working a ton while Clark is off for the summer and at home. We love the heat, we visit the pool on a regular basis (we can't seem to get very tan though, must be all that sunscreen). Clark's been out hunting coyote a couple of times which he really enjoys. He'll start school in August. Hope everyone is great, miss you all!

Grandma and Grandpa Ray were here this past week, and we checked out Sabino Canyon Rec Area here in Tucson. This is just down the street from us, and it has a very cool river running down the length of the canyon that is awesome for swimming.

We didn't know about the swimming until we got up there, so Clark jumped in in his cargo shorts.

4 Months

Our little Clarkie (or Prince Hal as his great-nana Jones calls him) is 4 months old today! He weighs 16 lbs. (60%) and is 26 inches tall (75%). He seems to love living in Arizona, where he gets to go swimming and doesn't have to be bundled up all the time. He's drooling profusely, as you can probably see, and has just started eating rice cereal, which he's not so sure about yet. Every day he learns new things and thrills us with all the little smiles, giggles and baby talk. He also seems to be quite the flirt because everywhere we go, ladies fawn over him and he just smiles away at them.
We'll put up some pictures of our new place when I finally get things together, moving is hard work!

We're Moving!!!

Clark will be going to the University of Arizona Law School this fall. We went down to their admitted students day a few weeks ago, and they won us over. Clark has a 1/3 tuition scholarship as well, which helped make the decision even easier! And I found a job, and we found an apartment, so we're going this Tuesday, the 31st. Quick, I know, but it makes a lot more sense for me to work down there, as nurse wages in AZ are much better, with a pretty comparable cost of living. We will miss all of our wonderful friends and family here in Utah, but this is an exciting new adventure for us. Go Wildcats!

After two years+ of nursing school and a couple months of study and anticipation, I took my boards to become a registered nurse last Friday. And the results are in; I PASSED!!! I am so relieved and excited, I have met a huge goal. I'm officially an RN!

Clarkie's First Haircut

Clarkie had lots of hair when he was born, but it's kind of gone bald on top, and the hair in the back stuck around. It was starting to form this rat-tail mullet thing, so daddy took the clippers to it. It looks much better now!

Since February 1st was Stake Conference in our ward, we decided to go to California to bless Clarkie in his Grandma and Grandpa Jones' ward. It ended up working out great, Clarkie's great-grandpa Blum got to participate, along with a lot of the men who taught Clark when he was growing up. Thanks to all of the wonderful Danville members who have always been so supportive and generous!

Trip to California

Trying on some sweet baby shades. We went to CA over the Jan 31st-Feb 1st weekend to see my grandma and bless Clarkie. Blessing pictures to come...
Clarkie's very first ride in an airplane! I was all stressed out over bringing him on a plane when he's still so little, but there were only about 30 people on our flight going there and coming back. We had the whole back of the plane to ourselves.

Clarkie got to meet his Great-Grandma Ray for the first time. She was having some health trouble on our trip and we were a little worried, but this wonderful 90 year old lady has recovered and is doing much better. We think meeting her first great grandchild helped!

Clarkie loves to look at his crazy mobile his grandma bought him. He is smiling now and it makes us absolutely giddy every time he does. If he catches us smiling at him he starts to smile. But as soon as we give him an artificial smile hoping to get him smile more, he stops smiling. He can tell a real smile from a fake one.

Hal Clark Jones IV was born at 4:08pm.
He weighed in at a whopping 8 lbs 14oz!!!

My 39 week Dr appointment was Tuesday, and my blood pressure has been creeping up. Since I'm 39+ weeks and starting to dilate, my doc decided that if Hal Clark IV hasn't shown up on his own by Monday, I'll be induced! We'll be parents by Monday the 8th!

So, it's been forever since I put anything on here, I was probably too ambitious starting a blog. I just wanted to share that first post sonogram so bad! Things have been pretty good with us, Clark and I are both back in school for our last semester til graduation. I've been busy trying to get my clinicals done before I get too much more pregnant, and Clark has been studying hard for the LSAT for the application to law school. We went to California for a visit back in August when Clark's brother Jake got home from his mission, so here's a picture of the Jones fam after his homecoming talk (he's the guy in the back of course). We're missing the current Elder Jones, Brock, who is serving in Kranj, Slovenia, so here's a pic of him too! Hope everyone is doing great with all the wonderful things you are doing. I'll post a picture of me and the baby bump sometime soon, but between work and school, I rarely feel like having my picture taken!

Sundance

Saturday night we decided to have a romantic date night and go up to Sundance for dinner at the Foundry Grill. Anyone who lives around here, here's a secret: You can get two free lift ticket rides if you eat at the Foundry or the Tree Room between 5 and 5:30! The food was incredible and the restaurant beautiful, I highly recommend eating on the patio. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we missed the ski lift ride (the tickets are good for a month though!). On our way out, a really nice guy was giving away tickets to see the jazz concert that was about to start, so we thought, hey, why not? Well, about 10 minutes into the show the thunder and lightning began, followed by some serious rain. The concert was outdoors, so they had to cancel since all their equipment was getting wet. It was a fun adventure, however, and I think we may head back there to see their theater production of A Midsummer Night's Dream. Here's a picture of Clark under our soaking wet sleeping bag while we were huddled under a pine tree!

We just had out ultrasound today and found out that we're having a boy. We're so excited, and everything looks healthy! He was pretty stubborn and was facedown with his chin tucked for most of the time, but we finally got a clear shot here of his profile and an arm about to punch me. His due date is December 9th, and we can't wait to meet him!

Welcome to our Blog!

Well, we've finally joined the rest of the world and created a blog! Now if I can only keep up, maybe we'll get some posts on it. It has been a wonderful semester, but Clark and I are both very relieved it is over. We each have about one more year left in our current degrees, Clark in his Bachelor's in Philosophy, and me in Nursing. I will be taking the LPN exam sometime in the next couple of months now that I have a year of the nursing program completed.
We're both enjoying our two jobs each; Clark is an editor for Aporia, BYU's undergraduate philosophy journal, as well as a frontline caller for ConversionEtics, a company his dad is starting. I am still working with the wonderful seniors at Jamestown Assisted Living, but as an LPN now; I am also really enjoying working as a PCT on the Mother/Baby floor at Utah Valley.
We are both thrilled to have a break at the moment to be home in California for Christmas. We've been skiing /boarding with the Rays in Lake Tahoe for the past couple of days, but will head back to Danville tommorow. We hope everyone is doing well and is have a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
